What is a retail energy provider?

With electric competition, Retail Electric Providers (REPs) sell electricity to you and provide functions such as customer service and billing. REPs compete for your business by offering lower prices, renewable energy options, added customer service benefits or other incentives.

Who Do I call for repairs and emergencies?

You will continue to call TXU; the Public Utilities Commission has dominion over the electric grid and TXU is paid very well to insure that electric power is provided at all times. In the case of an outage, TXU’s subsidiary, ONCORE will insure quick restoration to any power outage.

What is an affiliate REP?

An Affiliate REP is a company associated with the local wires company.

What is a competitive REP?

These REPs compete for your business by offering lower prices, renewable energy options, added customer service benefits or other incentives.

What if my REP goes out of business?

If your REP goes out of business, your service will automatically be transferred to the Provider of Last Resort (POLR), which serves as a back-up REP in your area.

Can TCE guarantee that I will be billed in a timely and accurate manner?

TCE guarantees in each contact that cutover will occur within 30 days and that your first bill will arrive on time, within 60 days.

How do I know that there will be no hidden charges added to my bill?

TCE is committed to a "straight forward approach" when it comes to their customers.  TCE's contracts hold no hidden costs.  Each contract is consistent and concise.
